Ikharo Attah now S.A. on media, communication to minister of education

The Federal Ministry of Education has announced the appointment of Ikharo Attah as Special Adviser on Media and Communication to the Honourable Minister of Education, Maruf Tunji Alausa.
The appointment, conveyed in a letter dated April 28, 2026, is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen public engagement, enhance transparency, and improve communication of key reforms and initiatives within the education sector.
In his new role, Attah will be responsible for developing and implementing the Minister’s media and communication strategy. His duties include managing media relations, coordinating public communications, overseeing digital and social media engagement, and ensuring consistency in messaging across all platforms.
He is also expected to provide strategic advisory support on high-level communications and lead crisis communication efforts to safeguard the Ministry’s public image.
A seasoned broadcast journalist, Attah brings over two decades of experience in the media industry. He began his career with DBN Television and currently serves at Independent Television, where he rose to the position of Manager of News and Current Affairs.
Beyond journalism, Attah has held several public service roles. He served as Chairman of the FCT Task Force on Traffic Decongestion in 2019 and later as Chairman of the FCT Task Force on Enforcement of COVID-19 Protocols in 2020.
In November 2021, he was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Monitoring, Inspection, and Enforcement in the FCT Administration.
The Ministry expressed confidence that Attah’s extensive experience will significantly enhance its communication architecture and support the effective delivery of ongoing education sector reforms.
