2027 Presidential Election: Tinubu heading towards landslide based on performance
— Alausa
…says economic reforms are delivering measurable results, building a sustainable future
By Uji A. Iliyasu, Abuja
The Minister of Education, Dr Maruf Tunji Alausa, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will win the 2027 presidential election, citing the administration’s economic reforms, improving macroeconomic indicators and growing confidence from national and international institutions.
Speaking during an interview, Dr Alausa said the President has fulfilled his promises to Nigerians through far-reaching reforms that are steadily transforming the economy while laying a foundation for sustainable, inclusive growth.
The Minister said Nigeria’s economic progress was no longer a matter of political rhetoric but one backed by credible data and independent assessments, noting that reports from the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, Bloomberg and the National Bureau of Statistics affirmed the reforms were producing measurable results.
Dr Alausa said key macroeconomic indicators continue to move in the right direction, with inflation gradually easing, economic activity expanding and other critical indices showing steady improvement.
He stressed that while the administration was encouraged by the positive outlook, President Tinubu had placed strong emphasis on ensuring the reforms remained sustainable well beyond the present administration.
“The President is focused on building a stronger Nigeria for generations to come. These reforms are not designed for short-term gains but to create lasting prosperity. There is no value in making difficult decisions if they cannot stand the test of time,” the Minister said.
Dr Alausa added that the administration’s commitment to fiscal discipline, structural reforms and long-term economic stability was already yielding positive outcomes across several sectors, positioning Nigeria on a stronger path towards inclusive growth, increased productivity and national development.
Reaffirming his confidence in the administration, the Minister maintained that as Nigerians continued to witness improvements in economic indicators and the impact of ongoing reforms, President Tinubu’s performance would remain the strongest basis for seeking another mandate in 2027.
He further reaffirmed the Tinubu-led administration’s commitment to implementing policies that strengthen the economy, improve citizens’ welfare and advance the Renewed Hope Agenda, expressing optimism that the gains of the current reforms would continue to deliver lasting prosperity for all Nigerians.
