The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Segun Aina, has reaffirmed the commitment of his administration to customer-oriented service delivery, describing it as a critical pillar of the Board’s operations and relationship with candidates.

Prof. Aina made this known on Friday, August 14, 2026, during his maiden official visit to some of the Board’s outstation offices, where he interacted with members of staff, inspected their operations and familiarised himself with the challenges confronting them in the discharge of their duties.

The visit provided the Registrar with an opportunity to engage directly with personnel at the various stations and gain first-hand insight into their working environment, operational needs and the expectations of the candidates they serve.

Prof. Aina expressed appreciation to the staff for the warm reception accorded him and commended them for their dedication to the Board’s mandate. He, however, urged them to cultivate greater resilience and adaptability to enable them respond effectively to emerging realities in the public service environment.

He assured the workforce that the Board would continue to deploy deliberate strategies, innovative initiatives and appropriate technologies to improve its operations, enhance efficiency and provide candidates with a better service experience.

The Registrar emphasised that quality customer service remains central to JAMB’s operations, stressing that the Board’s responsibility extends beyond the administration of examinations and admissions processes to ensuring that candidates receive timely, courteous and effective assistance whenever they interact with the institution.

He consequently assured staff that Management would continue to provide the necessary tools, training and institutional support required to facilitate efficient and effective service delivery.

Prof. Aina also charged the workforce to embrace teamwork, professionalism and a shared sense of purpose, particularly in responding to the evolving needs and expectations of Generation Z candidates, who constitute a significant segment of JAMB’s clientele.

He said, “We must all come together to build trust and reduce trauma.”

He explained that every interaction between a JAMB official and a candidate represents an opportunity to strengthen public confidence in the Board and its processes. He therefore, urged staff to remain courteous, responsive and solution-driven in the performance of their responsibilities.

The Registrar noted that candidates often approach the Board with concerns relating to admissions, registration and other processes, making it imperative for officials to demonstrate patience, understanding and professionalism while addressing their complaints and enquiries.

Staff members across the stations visited congratulated Prof. Aina on his appointment and prayed for a successful and impactful tenure. They expressed appreciation for the visit, noting that it would further strengthen the relationship between the Board’s leadership and its workforce.

They also observed that the engagement provided a valuable platform for exchanging ideas on how to improve service delivery and address operational challenges confronting the outstation offices.

In their separate remarks, the staff pledged their commitment to the Registrar’s vision and assured him of their continued dedication, professionalism and teamwork in advancing the mandate of JAMB.

The visit is expected to further reinforce the Board’s focus on a more responsive, technology-driven and candidate-friendly service culture as it continues to meet the changing demands of Nigeria’s tertiary education admission system.
