The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Segun Aina, has received the 2026 Service Compact with All Nigeria (SERVICOM) Champion Award in recognition of his commitment to improving service delivery and strengthening public confidence in the board.
The award acknowledges various initiatives introduced by Aina since assuming office on August 1, 2026, aimed at improving the experience of Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination candidates and other stakeholders.
The initiatives are designed to build trust, reduce the trauma associated with accessing the board’s services and establish a sustainable framework for efficient, transparent and citizen-centred service delivery.
The Acting National Coordinator and Chief Executive Officer of SERVICOM, Presidency, Mrs Helen Lawal, disclosed this while decorating the registrar with the award during JAMB’s 2026 Customer Service Week on October 19.
Lawal said the SERVICOM Champion Award was instituted to recognise leaders, public servants and government agencies demonstrating exceptional commitment to citizen-focused service delivery and accountability.
She commended Aina for his dedication, integrity and renewed vigour in promoting excellent service delivery, noting that his approach to leadership had strengthened the board’s commitment to meeting the needs of its numerous customers.
She said the registrar has effectively leveraged appropriate technology to improve service delivery, with significant results recorded since his assuming office.
She added that the recognition reflected his commitment to ensuring that candidates and other stakeholders received more efficient, responsive and accessible services.
The award also underscores the importance of leadership in driving institutional reforms and improving the quality of public services delivered to Nigerians.
JAMB, which conducts the UTME for admission into tertiary institutions across the country, serves millions of candidates and other stakeholders annually. Its service delivery mechanisms remain critical to ensuring a smooth and transparent admission process.
Aina’s recognition comes amid efforts to strengthen public sector accountability and promote a customer-focused culture in government institutions.
The SERVICOM Champion Award is expected to further encourage the adoption of innovative practices, responsible leadership and effective service delivery across public institutions.
The recognition places renewed emphasis on the need for government agencies to prioritise the needs of citizens while maintaining transparency, integrity and efficiency in the discharge of their responsibilities.
