Gov. Aliyu: Don’t let detractors derail your plans for the people

Gov. Ahmed Aliyu has cleared the air on  the controversy surrounding the 28 solar-powered boreholes in Wurno Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

He spoke in Goronyo at the flag-off of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign rally for the Sokoto East Senatorial Zone ahead of the forthcoming local governments elections.

Governor Aliyu said  the contact for the drilling of the  28 new boreholes in five locations in Wurno Local Government  Area was not awarded by Sokoto State Government.

“This project was not awarded by the Sokoto State Government, it is a project jointly funded by the World Bank, state government, and ACREsAL project, with the aim of making water accessible to Munki, Lugu, Wurno, Dinawa and Marnona areas.

“We never participated in the process of awarding the contact for the drilling of new boreholes.

“The issue of renovation of boreholes in  Wurno does not even arise because you can’t  repair what does not exist.

“There were no  boreholes drilled in those places before our coming to power, that is why we insisted on drilling  new boreholes to those communities,”Governor Aliyu said.

He added that the present administration in the state had executed various projects across the state without borrowing a dime from anybody at home or abroad. He also said no contractor in the state is being owed by the state government, because the government makes sure that contractors are never short of funds so that they can give them quality projects and within stipulated period.

Gov.  Aliyu also vowed to continue to execute people- oriented projects for the development of the state despite detractors who wanted to derail his plans for better life for the people.

He, therefore. solicited for the support and cooperation from well -meaning citizens so that the entire state could benefit from the state government’s developmental projects and pro-people policies.

Governor Aliyu’s plans for the Sokoto people should not be allowed to derail  because his plans are tantamount to progress and development. His initiatives aim to bring progress and development to Sokoto State and northern region as a whole, as he strives towards improving the lives of citizens.

Gov Aliyu’s plans for Sokoto State have stimulated economic growth, created jobs, and increase opportunities for the people.

Also his focus on infrastructure development has enhanced the quality of life, facilitated trade, and attracted investments at home and from abroad.

Furthermore, the governor’s plans prioritizes social welfare, ensuring access to essential goods and services like healthcare, education, and security of life and property.

Unlike other state executives, Governor Aliyu has a clear vision for Sokoto’s future, and his plans are designed to achieve long-term benefits that will ultimately bring growth and development towards improvising the people’s living standards.

It is important to note that all Governor Aliyu’s  initiatives are citizen-centred, addressing the needs and concerns of the people, rather than serving special interests of few elite class.

Of most most important is the governor’s accountability to the people, and his transparent governance which ensures responsibility and open policies.

I, like all good citizens, say Governor Aliyu detractors should not be allowed to derail these plans because they are not driven by personal interests, vindictiveness, political agenda, or a lack of vision and  understanding of state governance.

The people of Sokoto deserve the opportunity to benefit from these initiatives and build a brighter future for themselves and for the future generations. This is history will stand out Governor Aliyu as one of the true servant leaders in Sokoto anals of democracy.
