 COVID-19: FAAN VISITS SANWO OLU OVER REOPENING OF MMIA

Ahead of the commencement of international flight operations by September 5, 2020, top management of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria, FAAN, paid a courtesy visit to the Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo Olu, on the first day of September, 2020.

During the visit, the Managing Director of FAAN, Captn. Rabiu Yadudu, who led the FAAN team, while commending the efforts of the State Government in developing critical infrastructure across the State, appreciated the State for upgrading the Oshodi/Ajao road which is a gateway to Murtala Muhammed International Airport, describing Sanwo Olu’s many efforts as an attestation to the delivery of the mandate given him by the good people of Lagos State. 

Captn. Yadudu used the auspicious moment to request the support and collaboration of Lagos State Government in the area of ensuring improved safety, security and better service delivery at MMIA. Some of the areas FAAN requests the State’s supports according to Capt. Yadudu include; expansion of MMIA/GAT/MM2 road; Rail Project- right of way and possible link to Lagos Stations. Others are; checkmating Shasha/Ajao, encroachment and commercial concerns as well as donation of Co-buses (Apron Buses). FAAN also requested for the evacuation of the mechanic village along Oshodi road amongst others. In his wisdom, Sanwo Olu promised to look into the plight of FAAN.
