NECO registrar elected into executive council of education assessment in Africa

The Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, National Examinations Council (NECO), Prof. Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi, has been elected into the executive council of the Association For Educational Assessment in Africa (AEAA).
According to a statement signed by NECO’s Director of Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, on Sunday,
Wushishi was elected as the West African Representative in the executive council at the just concluded 40th conference of the association held at the Century City Conference Centre and Hotels, Cape Town, South Africa.
The NECO registrar will serve in the eight-member executive council with members drawn from other examination bodies across Africa.
“The AEAA was established in 1982 with the aim of promoting co-operation among examining and assessment bodies in Africa.
“The Association is saddled with the harmonisation of educational assessment in the African Continent,” the statement reads in part.
This year’s conference has the theme: “Re-imaging Education Assessment in the Age of Multiple Dimension of Learning in Global Society”.
The conference which started on 19 August, came to an end on 23 August, 2024, with over 21 active primary members as well as other public and private institutions and organisations from across the world in attendance.
