Oshiomhole has accused the PDP of being behind Tinubu, El-Rufai’s 2023
presidential posters.
The APC
chairman said that the posters were meant to blackmail the ruling party.
Oshiomhole, however, noted that the party is now more focused on governance
than politics. Oshiomhole, the national chairman of the All Progressives
Congress (APC), has cleared the air over the purported 2023 presidential
posters of the party’s national leader, Bola Tinubu and the governor of Kaduna
state, Nasir el-Rufai. Legit.ng
reports that he said the governing party is focused on delivering good
governance to Nigerians rather than 2023 elections. Oshiomhole made this known
in Abuja Thursday, October 3, at a reconciliation meeting with the party’s
stakeholders and aggrieved governorship aspirants from Bayelsa state.
“I want to completely disassociate myself and
members of our party from all those posters. We believe that these are the
handiwork of PDP who think that they can create suspicion within the rank of
APC by using some elements to print posters to create complete diversion,”
he said.
APC speaks
on rumoured plans to humiliate Osinbajo, tags it fake news. He said that the
people who may have ambition were aware that it is not the time for the
electioneering.
Posters of Tinubu and El-Rufai for 2023
presidency had sparked debate among Nigerians. In various parts of Kaduna city,
posters which read, ‘El- Rufai 2023 (Mai Aiki) for President, Federal Republic
of Nigeria’, sponsored by the Northern Youth Forum were seen. Also in Ikeja, a
large billboard of Tinubu could be seen around the ‘Ikeja Along’ bus-stop, with
the words, ‘BAT 2023’, although it has since been taken down.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng had previously reported that
Oshiomhole said he was confident that his party would come out victorious in
the governorship election slated for November 16, in Bayelsa state.
