2026 UTME: JAMB releases Day 1 results of 632,788 candidates

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released the results of 632,788 candidates who sat for the first day of the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted on Thursday 16 April.
In a statement issued by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the Board said candidates can now check their results by sending “UTMERESULT” via SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the same phone number used during registration.
The Board noted that for now, candidates can only view their results, as printing will be made available at a later stage.
JAMB also warned candidates against tampering with the SMS results to falsify scores, describing such acts as criminal offences. It disclosed that two candidates and one parent are already in custody for allegedly manipulating results using artificial intelligence and other digital tools.
The Board reaffirmed that the UTME exercise is ongoing, adding that more results will be released in due course.
