Gov. Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto  State has again supported the Nigerian Military with 10 additional vehicles to boost security in the state. This was disclosed by Secretary to Sokoto State Government,  Abubakar Bawa in release he personally signed and presented to newsmen Saturday.

Presenting the vehicles to the Minister of State for Defence Bello Muhammad Matawalle, Gov. Aliyu appreciated President Bola Tinubu’s concern on the security challenges facing the nation.

He said the presidential directives that the Minister for Defence and Service Chiefs  relocate to Sokoto is a clear indication of President Tinubu’s commitment towards tackling banditry and other forms of criminality not only in Sokoto but the North- West in general.

The 10 patrol vehicles given to the military were in addition to the 100 vehicles the  governor had earlier given to security agencies in order to fight banditry in the state.

Governor Aliyu vowed to commit the state’s resources to guarantee the safety of life and property of people of the state. This clearly supports the fact that  security is number one item  on Gov  Aliyu’s 9-point agenda.

“We would do whatever it takes within the ambit of the law to protect our people,” he has vowed.

Responding, the minister for State, Defense, Bello Matawalle, said the presidential directive that  they relocate  to Sokoto was as result of an intense pressure the Governor  kept mounting on Mr President on the need to come to the rescue of his state.  He then happily told the governor that because of the seriousness you he had shown in addressing the security challenges in the state, Mr President has approved the purchase of CMG vehicles that would be stationed in Sokoto under a new  operation code named “FANSAR YAMMA” to secure North-West.

The people of Sokoto are indeed  lucky to have Ahmed Aliyu as their governor, because he has the state at heart.

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State is truly a warrior against insecurity in his state. He has been creating a model for his colleagues to adopt. His recent donation of 10 patrol vehicles to the military on October 11 is a testament to his commitment to safeguarding the life and property of his people. This proactive measure demonstrates his willingness to tackle insecurity head-on and ensure that the military has the necessary resources and tools to combat crime effectively and efficiently.

It’s worthy of note that this isn’t the governor’s first move to boost security in the state. Previously, he had handed over 20 Hilux vans and 710 motorcycles to the newly established Community Guard Corps to enhance their effectiveness in combating insecurity, particularly in rural areas affected by banditry. He has also settled outstanding payments and increased allowances for security personnel,; established community guards, and procured 40 Toyota Hilux vehicles and 750 motorcycles to enhance security logistics
These efforts showcase Governor Aliyu’s dedication and commitment to protecting his people and promoting peace in Sokoto State. His leadership and proactive approach to security are truly commendable, and I applaud him for his tireless efforts to ensure the safety and wellbeing of his compatriots.

The establishment of the Community Guard Corps is a strategic move to engage local communities in the fight against insecurity. By providing the necessary equipment and resources, Governor Aliyu aims to empower these communities to take ownership of their security.  This approach recognizes the importance of grassroots involvement in addressing the root of insecurity.
Governor Aliyu has also commended the Nigerian Army, police, paramilitary, and air force for their cooperation in tackling insecurity in Sokoto State.  The governor’s praise for the military’s quick rescue of abducted school children underscores the effectiveness of this collaboration .
Governor Aliyu has emphasized the need for collective action to combat banditry, urging stakeholders to work together to address the challenge.
By donating patrol vehicles to the military and supporting community-led security initiatives, Governor Aliyu demonstrates his commitment to ensuring that businesses thrive in Sokoto State, and this has been attracting investments into the state.
Overall, Governor  Aliyu’s efforts to check insecurity in Sokoto State demonstrate his proactive leadership and dedication to protecting not only Sokoto people but  nationals of other countries residing in the state.
Governor Aliyu’s proactive security initiatives in Sokoto State demonstrate his capability to ensuring the safety and well-being of all Nigerians of all walks of life and professions if given a higher national assignment.
By donating patrol vehicles to the military and establishing community guards, he has shown that he can effectively tackle insecurity and promote peace in the north and by extension, the whole of Nigeria.
His security efforts showcase his dedication to protecting his people and promoting peace in Sokoto State. His leadership and proactive approach to security are truly commendable, and I applaud him for his tireless efforts to ensure the safety and wellbeing of his citizens.
Given his success in addressing security concerns at the state level, it’s reasonable to conclude that Governor Aliyu possesses the leadership skills and expertise required to handle any  higher national assignment, particularly those related to security and good governance.
