On presidential award of excellence for Gov Aliyu

Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State was conferred with the Presidential Award of Excellence due to his outstanding achievements in office. One of his notable accomplishments is his commitment to addressing the state’s water supply challenges.
Recently, he awarded a N14 billion contract to complete a 40 million gallons per day water project, aiming to drastically improve water availability in Sokoto metropolis. This move demonstrates his dedication to providing basic amenities to his constituents.
Governor Aliyu has also taken bold steps to tackle insecurity in Sokoto State. He has collaborated with the Federal Government to strengthen security measures, ensuring the safety of life and property of citizens.
His administration’s efforts to support the military in their mission to secure the Northwest region are commendable.
In addition to his security and infrastructure initiatives, Governor Aliyu is focused on economic growth. He has inaugurated the Sokoto State Economic Advisory Council to drive development and investment in the state. This move showcases his commitment to creating opportunities for economic empowerment.
As a seasoned leader, Governor Aliyu brings a wealth of experience to his role. His background in finance and accounting has equipped him to manage the state’s resources effectively and prudently. His previous positions, including Deputy Governor and Commissioner for Social Welfare and Culture, have prepared him to tackle the complexities of governance.
Governor Aliyu’s achievements have not gone unnoticed. He has received numerous awards, including the merit award from the Nigeria Union of Journalists and the certificate of sponsorship from the NUJ Sokoto State Chapel. These recognitions demonstrate his commitment to excellence and service.

According to a release by Press Secretary to Sokoto State Governent, Abubakar Bawa. the Senior Special Assistant to President Bola Tinubu on Community Engagement, Abdullahi Tanko Yakasai, presented the award to Gov. Aliyu during a courtesy visit at Government House, Sokoto.
“I was opportune to visit many parts of the state,especially in the metropolis and from what i have seen so far, the governor is working,” Yakasai said.
The Community Engagement Department established by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is meant to receive feedbacks from the Nigerian populace on various people-oriented projects being executed by the Federal Government across the federation.
The office have already allocated 300 slots for students of the Sokoto State University in order to ensure that Sokoto benefits from the gesture.
Gov. Ahmed Aliyu praised President Bola Tinubu for the Renewed Hope Agenda which is aimed at transforming the country, and pledged 100 percent loyalty behind President Tinubu.
To this end, I therefore, called on Sokoto people to take advantage of this award and give the governor all necessary support and encouragement.
