The Nigerian
Metheological Agency (NIMET) has constructed a weather station at Nasarawa
State University, Keffi (NSUK).

further maintained that NIMET’s primary duty is to provide quality weather
facilities, promote knowledge of weather and climate change, which is a major
concern of humanity.

According to
the DG, all institutions in Nigeria are to own a weather station, which will be
constructed by the agency for teaching and research purposes.

reiterated that training of staff is paramount in academic communities,

Mashi
further stressed that the bilateral relationship between NSUK and NIMET will
benefit both in the area of manpower exchange, research and revenue generation.

On his part,
the Head of Department (HOD) of Geography, Dr. Tanko Ogah, said the
commissioning of the weather station marked another day of celebration for him as
HOD, adding that the weather station project was a dream which the institution had
been pursuing for over a year.
