Stakeholders in Nigeria’s education sector have agreed on new admission guidelines for the 2025/2026 academic session. TETFund endorses hybrid energy systems for tertiary institutions

Amidst soaring energy costs and unreliable power supply, the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) has endorsed a comprehensive shift towards hybrid energy systems in Nigeria’s tertiary institutions. This follows the submission of a report by the Steering Committee on Alternative Energy Solutions, which recommends the adoption of hybrid solar photovoltaic (PV), battery storage, grid integration, and gas-fed backup power systems as the most cost-effective and sustainable solution.

FG inaugurates committee to commercialise research outputs from tertiary institutions

The Federal Government has inaugurated a high-level Ministerial Committee tasked with spearheading the commercialisation of research outputs from Nigeria’s tertiary institutions. Known as the Research and Innovation Commercialisation Committee (RICC), the body was formally inaugurated in Abuja on Tuesday by the Honourable Minister of Education, Dr Mauruf Olatunji Alausa.
