Commissioner applauds Taraba Polytechnic for excellence

The Commissioner for education, Taraba State, Dr Augustina Godwin, has lauded Taraba State Polytechnic, Suntai, over the quality of leadership it had rendered to the public overtime.
Dr Augustina made the commendation during the institution’s 2023/2024 matriculation ceremony held at the Jalingo campus of the polytechnic.
She said the institution’s leadership is working round the clock to ensure the students received quality education that will improve the labour force of the state.
Dr Augustina congratulates the matriculating students for taking a giant step, and advised the students to shun all forms of vices and concentrate on their studies, adding that education in the 21st century has embraced technology in all domains
Delivering his matriculation speech, the Acting Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Amos Danlami Agbu, urged the newly admitted students to study hard as the journey towards achieving academic success is very tasking and required total commitment.
The rector reiterated that the polytechnic has a zero tolerance for cultism, examination malpractice, indecent dressing, religious extremism, fanaticism, among others.
The rector appeals to the staff of the institution to shun hate speech, fake news, rumour mongering, tribal sentiment, branding the polytechnic with bad image and extortion from students.
He noted that the institution is growing rapidly and initiating ways to tackle financial challenges by introducing diverse means of internally generated revenue for the school through printing press, entrepreneur centre, such as shoe making, tailoring, welding, gari processing, poultry farm as well as pig farming.
Dr Agbu appreciate the governor of Taraba state Dr Agbu Kefas. for making education available for all people by reducing the school fees by 50 percent, donating vehicles for polytechnic and providing funds for course accreditation as well as regular payment of staff salaries.
Delivering his vote of thanks, the acting registrar of the polytechnic, Mr Kwesinde Biki, applauded the management and the Commissioner for being part of the polytechnic matriculation ceremony.
