The management staff and production
crew of Search FM, 92.3, the
campus radio station of Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMINNA), in
Niger state, have received some high-tech studio equipment donated by BuyPower
Communications Limited.
The state-of-the-art gadgets include
sets of wireless microphones, mega speakers, set of sofa (seats), microphone
stands, an audio console, high-tech microphones, sound mixers, guitar, stabilizer
and a computer, among others.
BuyPower’s Chief Executive Officer,
Mr. Onjima Benjamin, and Mr. Asehinde Leonard, who is the media firm’s Chief
Operating Officer (COO), handed-over the donated equipment to FUTMINNA’s vice
chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Bala, at the FM’s building in Gidan Kwano
campus.
Mr. Benjamin, lauded the contribution
of the FM station towards accurate, reliable and timely dissemination of news,
alongside the presentation of other enlightening radio programmes for the
university’s host community and Minna town in general.
He described Search FM as one campus
radio that has carved a distinct niche for itself, due to the ‘eloquent and
flawless’ manner both staff and student-volunteers present various types of
radio programmes.
“Over the years, Search FM has
continuously sustained its unsurpassed reputation as an award-winning radio
station. And this is not only in Niger state, but throughout the country. We
have always been marveled as to how young presenters, mostly students anchor
talk shows, news casting, and several other entertaining and informative
programmes. It is a public knowledge that Search FM is apparently the toast and
darling of teeming Minna residents. Therefore, it is only natural that spirited
firms such as ours support what Search FM is doing for the good of humanity.
Let me assure you that BuyPower will also partner you in vital areas of mutual
interests,” he said.
The BuyPower CEO, who noted that
their philanthropic donation is a kind gesture aimed at enhancing the working
condition of staff at the radio station, appealed for more support from the
school management so as to further motivate students who work as volunteers at
the FM.
Bala, while receiving the studio
gadgets, thanked BuyPower’s CEO and his team for their generous donation. The
VC assured that the equipment, which would greatly enhance the radio staff’s
working condition, would be properly maintained.
“The entire university, and most
especially the staff at our campus FM are immensely grateful to BuyPower
Communications. The state-of-the-art gadgets you have donated are equipment
only popular radio stations in the country can boast of. With these
sophisticated equipment, Search FM is now poised to take the presentation of
their informative and entertaining programmes to the next level,” he said.
