The Federal University of Technology,
Minna (FUTMINNA), in Niger state, has secured the release of N163m from the
Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) to address the problem of street lights
on both the Bosso and Gidan-Kwano campuses of the institution.

The institution’s vice chancellor,
Professor Abdullahi Bala, made this known during an interactive session with
students of the school, adding that more teaching facilities would be procured
for all faculties from the N395m infrastructural grant approved for the
university by the Federal Ministry of Education.

support-service programme to assist and also create viable source of income for
indigent undergraduates.

business plans to approach the university’s entrepreneurship centre so as to
nurture their ideas and get support through the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN)

university management was assiduously working to see that both the School of
Life Sciences and School of Physical Sciences are relocated to the main campus
at Gidan Kwano by next year. He said the school was also scaling up facilities

Earlier in an address of welcome,
Dean of Student Affairs, Professor Abdulmojeed Ijaiya, thanked the VC and other
principal staff for gracing the event, saying their physical presence at the
meeting was a confirmation of their ‘unbridled and unflinching commitment’ to
issues that affects students’ welfare.
