Gov. Ahmed Aliyu’s Sardauna-inspired leadership a model for the nation

Former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, has commended Gov. Ahmed Aliyu for adopting the leadership style of the late Premier of the defunct Northern Region, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto.
According to a release by Press Secretary to Sokoto State Government, Abubakar Bawa, on Tuesday, Bafarawa gave the commendation when he received Gov. Aliyu, who paid him a condolence visit over the recent passing of his younger sister, Hajiya Tumba, and his aide, Yahaya Dada.
Bafarawa said Gov. Aliyu has been replicating the leadership qualities of Sir Ahmadu Bello and urged him to maintain the happy momentum.
This commendation is coming in an era where political leadership is often driven by personal ambition and partisanship, it is both refreshing and commendable to witness a leader whose approach to governance is deeply rooted in selfless service, unity, and peacebuilding. Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State has emerged as such a leader, an exemplary statesman whose leadership style truly reflects the enduring legacy of Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto.

It was none other than former Governor of Sokoto State, Alhaji Attahiru Dalhatu Bafarawa, a respected political figure and elder statesman, who publicly commended Gov. Aliyu for emulating the Sardauna’s leadership qualities. During a recent condolence visit from Gov. Aliyu, Bafarawa expressed profound admiration for the governor’s style, describing it as reminiscent of the legendary Sir Ahmadu Bello’s legacy of inclusive, visionary governance. That such praise came from a man who himself once held the mantle of leadership in Sokoto is a demonstration of the governor’s integrity and the effectiveness of his approach.
