JAMB fast-tracks annual review amid 2025 UTME complaints

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced the acceleration of its annual system review following a surge in unusual complaints from candidates regarding the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) results released last Friday.
According to a statement by JAMB’s Public Communication Advisor, Dr Fabian Benjamin, the review, typically conducted months after the examination process, will now be fast-tracked to address concerns raised by candidates. The review covers three crucial stages: registration, examination, and the release of results.
“During the examination phase, JAMB ensures that every candidate is provided with an opportunity to sit for the test. Should any technical issues arise, the Board promptly reschedules the examination for affected candidates,” the statement read.
Dr Benjamin further noted that the Board is particularly attentive to the influx of complaints from certain states, stating, “We are meticulously examining these complaints to ascertain any potential technical issues. To facilitate this process, JAMB has enlisted experts from the Computer Professionals Association of Nigeria, Chief External Examiners who are heads of tertiary institutions, the Educational Association and Research Network in Africa, measurement experts, and Vice Chancellors from various institutions.”
The Board assured candidates that should any anomalies be confirmed, appropriate remedial measures will be implemented without delay.
