State University, Keffi (NSUK) has matriculated 6,183 students for her
2018/2019 academic session Saturday.

Addressing
the students at the university campus during the matriculation, the vice chancellor
of the institution, Professor Suleiman Bala Muhammed said that the institution
had zero tolerance on the sale of handout, cultism, examination malpractice and
drug abuse. He cautioned female students
not to take advantage of the proximity the university to Abuja and take to
prostitution instead of acquiring education.

reputation of the university would face the institution’s disciplinary
committee and expulsion for violation of the university ethical conduct.

acting director, Guidance and Counselling, Dr. (Rev) Mayange Levi Terzungwe in
his speech, said that the orientation was very essential to the newly admitted
students as it served as guide for the students on the campus and outside the
university community. He said the orientation would also address the issue of
violation of school rules and regulations, examination malpractice (the cardinal
focus of the university), bullying, truancy, drug abuse and addiction as well as sexual harassment.

file, a guide to student’s behaviour, client’s regulation hand card, and a
student’s database. He opined that orientation programme should be organised
both for postgraduate students, academic and non- academic staff, part-time,
sandwich programmes and corps members serving in the university.

admission followed JAMB guideline for admission, as the management of the
university had complied with the rule of the state institution which gives
indigene 80 per cent and non- indigene 20 per cent admission. He expressed satisfaction with the
leadership of Professor Muhammed for being transparent and working by the
stipulated policy on admission process, and not by ethnic or religious
consideration.

available. He disclosed that the
university will continue to create conducive atmosphere for students both on
and off campus, adding that the school had collaborated with student union
government (SUG) to provide buses for ease of movement.
