NECO Releases 2025 BECE Results

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has officially released the results of the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

According to a statement issued on Wednesday by NECO’s Acting Director of Information and Public Relations, Mr Azeez Sani, a total of 179,201 candidates registered for the examination, which covered 12 subjects.

The examination commenced on 12 May 2025 and was successfully concluded on 23 May 2025.

The results were released following the successful conclusion of the 2025 BECE Award Committee Meeting, held at the council’s headquarters in Minna.

During the meeting, the chairperson of the award committee, Dr (Mrs) Folake Olatunji-David, Director of Basic Education at the Federal Ministry of Education, expressed satisfaction with the conduct and processes leading to the timely release of the results.

Also in attendance were several secondary school principals from across the country, along with members of NECO management.

Meanwhile, the Award Committee has approved the date and timetable for the 2025 BECE re-sit.

The re-sit examination for Mathematics and English Studies is scheduled to take place on 23 and 24 July 2025.
