New fighter jet: Gov. Aliyu ridding the northwest of banditry

Gov. Ahmed Aliyu inspected a military jet and other facilities provided by Sokoto State Government in preparation for a new military operation code-named FANSAR YAMMA, aimed at ridding the Northwest zone of banditry.

Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, was at the Sultan Abubakar lll International Airport, Sokoto, where he inspected the temporary facilities provided to the military, pending the completion of the permanent one to be provided. 

In a press release  signed by Secretary to Sokoto State Governent, Abubakar Bawa, and made available to newsmen on Monday , Gov. Aliyu commended President Bola Tinubu for being proactive in addressing the security challenges affecting the state. 

He said the deployment of the fighter jet to Sokoto under the new operation was a clear testimony that banditry in the Northwest zone would soon be a thing of the past. 

“I’m optimistic that by the grace of Almighty Allah, the days of bandits are numbered in Sokoto State and the Northwest as a whole.

“What we need to do is to pray for Mr President to succeed,” he said.

Matwalle commended the governor for his sustained invaluable  support to the military.

The minister said that with the governor’s unwavering  commitment, the military are succeeding in the task of ridding the state of banditry, and  reassured the people of the state and the zone of the military’ s determination to ensure the protection of their lives and property. 

Gov. Aliyu was later ushered into the jet where he  tested some of its gadgets. 

Governor Aliyu is truly leading the charge against banditry in the northwest. His recent inspection of military fighter jet and other facilities at Sokoto airport is a testament to his commitment to securing his state and the region. 

Governor Aliyu has been proactive in supporting the military to combat insecurity. His donation of 10 patrol vehicles to boost security in the state demonstrates his willingness to provide the necessary resources to tackle banditry.  This move will undoubtedly enhance the military’s operational capacity and effectiveness in the region.

The governor has also emphasized the need for collective action to combat banditry, recognizing that it’s a complex issue requiring a multi-faceted approach. By advocating for collaboration, Gov. Aliyu is fostering a sense of unity and cooperation among stakeholders.

Under Governor Aliyu’s leadership, Sokoto State is tackling insecurity with new approaches. Building on the foundation laid by his predecessor, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko, he’s working to restore law and order in the state. 

The Governor’s efforts are a beacon of hope for the people of Sokoto State and the northwest region. His dedication to ridding the zone of banditry is unwavering, and his proactive measures are yielding positive results. A salute to Gov. Aliyu for his tireless efforts. 

His tireless efforts to secure Sokoto State are truly commendable. He’s been proactive in supporting the military to combat insecurity, recently donating 20 vehicles and 710 motorcycles to the Sokoto Community Guard Corps to enhance their logistics needs. This move demonstrates his commitment to ensuring the safety of life and property of his people.

Emergency Committee 

Under Gov. Aliyu’s administration, the government also established an emergency committee to address security challenges and procured 40 Toyota Hilux vehicles to boost security operations.

 Moreover. he has fostered collaborations with security agencies to improve safety across the state.

His commitment to transparency is also worth praising. Governor Aliyu launched a ministerial briefing to showcase his administration’s achievements and future plans, highlighting the importance of accurate data and information for public consumption.
