The succour to 600 displaced households by SOSG

Over 600 households were affected by flood in Illela Local Government Area of Sokoto State.
About 600 displaced households got N20m, 1000 mats, blankets each from Sokoto State Governent (SOSG); N10 million from Sen. Wamakko.
The council chairman, Sirajo Shehu MaiBala, stated this while briefing Gov. Ahmed Aliyu when he visited the displaced communities.
The devastating floods occurred on 3 August, and affected over 600 households in the area.
The displaced people, sought refuge in schools and filling stations in the area.
It is without doubt that the governor’s prompt visit would further rekindle the hope of the displaced persons as they are sure of receivinng assistance from the state government.
At the camp, Gov. Aliyu commisserated with the displaced persons and the entire Illela community.
The governor, on his visit to one of the displaced camps in Illela Secondary School, directed the immediate repairs of the dilapidated structure.
The secretary to the state government, Muhammad Bello Sifawa, announced a cash donation of N20 million by the state government. as well as N10 million from
Senator Aliyu Wamakko, in his benevolence, donated N10 million.
The Sokoto State Government also donated 1000 pieces of mats and blankets each, as well as 1 truck of rice.

Your administration’s efforts to support the marginalized groups, including persons with disabilities, youths, and vulnerable individuals, are truly commendable.
The initiatives aimed at empowering beneficiaries with sustainable means of livelihood, such as subsidized procurement of tricycles and motorcycles, are innovative and impactful.
You have made significant contributions to support victims of other disasters, including a N30 million donation to the families of a boat mishap, and N100 million to victims of a market fire. These actions demonstrate your dedication to alleviating the suffering of your constituents.
Governorr Aliyu’s administration has demonstrated compassion and commitment to supporting flood victims in Sokoto State, including those in Illela. Although I couldn’t find specific details on Governor Aliyu’s succour to Illela flood victims, his efforts to alleviate suffering across the state are noteworthy.
Nigeria is currently ramping up its flood emergency response, with various organizations contributing to the efforts The government is calling for increased support to flood victims, acknowledging the tireless work of security agencies.
To effectively check floods, there’s a growing emphasis on collaboration between government levels and stakeholders to develop necessary infrastructure. And Governor Aliyu’s administration is working towards this goal,.
And to whom much is given much is expected. We in Sokoto have given our governor 100 percent loyalty any time any day, under the sun or in the rain.
