NECO disowns fake Facebook account, to prosecutive impersonators

The National Examinations Council (NECO) has disowned a fraudulent Facebook account created in the name of its Registrar/Chief Executive, Professor Dantani Ibrahim Wushishi.
The Council described the account as a scam designed to defraud unsuspecting members of the public.
In a statement released on Sunday by NECO’s Acting Director, Information and Public Relations, Azeez Sani, the Council urged members of the public to disregard the fake account and exercise caution to avoid falling victim to fraudsters posing as the registrar.
“The Council wishes to draw the attention of the public to the existence of this fake Facebook account in order to avoid being swindled,” the statement read.
It added that security agencies have been duly notified and are taking appropriate action to identify and prosecute those behind the impersonation.
