Sokoto: Why Aliyu bags APC’s Award of Excellence

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has conferred an “Award of Excellence and Youth Empowerment” on Gov. Ahmad Aliyu of Sokoto State.
APC Deputy National Youth leader, Jamaluddeen Kabir, while presenting the award to the governor said the award was in recognition of the governor’s tireless efforts in the execution of myriad of developmental projects and youth empowerment in the state.
According to the release signed by Abubakar Bawa, Press Secretary to Sokoto State Governent on Friday, the governor has achieved so much in just one year in office, hence the need for youth wing of the APC to appreciate his giant strides.
They said because of the benevolence and humanity of Gov. Aliyu the people of the state give him various adorable names such as “Project Governor”, and “Alert Governor”.
This is a public servant who have transformed the state with several projects and also pays salaries as and at when due.
Bawa underscored Gov. Aliyu’s transformative agenda in areas of security, infrastructure development, youth empowerment, water supply, uplifting the standard of education, revamping the agricultural sector as well as boosting trade and commerce.
The Deputy National Youth leader lauded Gov. Aliyu’s effort in tacking security challenges in the state, saying it is worthy of commendation, hence the need to support him from all fronts.
Mr Jamalulldeen expressed satisfaction with the leadership style of Gov Aliyu and called on him to maintain the tempo.
Gov. Aliyu, in his response, thanked the Deputy National Youth leader for the award, and assured them of his resolve to continue to execute meaningful projects for the development of Sokoto State.
He reassured the APC that his administration would work in line with the party’s manifesto aimed at making Nigeria better.
The governor further called on the party not to relent in providing useful advice to political officeholders who won elections under its platform

In the the sphere of security and logistics, he has given out over 40 Toyota Hilux vehicles and 750 motorcycles and fostering collaboration with security agencies.
Distributing palliatives worth N5bn and paying N700 billion to 69,979 persons with disabilities in just one year was one great achievement.
Furthermore, appointing chairmen and members to key boards, such as the Universal Basic Education Board; upgrading critical infrastructure to promote economic growth.

His commitment to transparency is evident in the ministerial briefing organised to share the administration’s achievements and challenges His open-door policies ensure that the government remains accountable to the people.
Governor Ahmad Aliyu’s dedication to the wellbeing of Sokoto State residents is truly beyond expectations and therefore deserves our commendations. His selfless service and commitment to humanity and benevolence make him an exemplary leader among his contemporaries.
The people of Sokoto State have every reason to support Governor Ahmed Aliyu in his government’s endeavors. Under his leadership, the state has witnessed significant strides in various sectors.
The governor’s administration has distributed palliatives worth N5bn, including grains and other essential items, to alleviate economic hardships. Additionally, plans are underway to provide financial support to traders and artisans in order to boost economic activity in the state towards sustainable economic development.
Governor Aliyu aims to transform Sokoto State into a digital ecosystem, making it an envy of other states in Nigeria ³. This vision promises to create opportunities, drive growth, and position Sokoto as a hub for innovation.
